Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation; my stronghold.
I’ve been walking religiously for the last three months. Historically I have preferred the variety and scenery found in parks or along sidewalk areas that do not require multiple loops. However, since working from home it seemed counterproductive to drive to town. Yet, to get all my steps in I have to walk two or three laps of every road in the 40-house neighborhood. I have found audible and the app has helped with the monotony of the daily loops. But I am amazed at the array of creatures, nature and people I meet each day.
On my walk this morning I spotted these rocks. They have been there every morning but like many days, God catches my attention and whispers a message to share or reminds me of His presence and Glory.
This morning I couldn’t resist the temptation to stand on this rock. It wasn’t a huge rock and didn’t require much effort. But the sensation of triumph as I stood even just a tad taller atop the stone was surprising. That’s when I was reminded of the ‘rock’ I stand on daily. Jesus is my rock. In His love I find refuge and because of His strength I can celebrate victories!
