Little feet need little shoes. If I were to try and wear someone else’s shoes they would probably be too big causing me to stumble. Possibly, should you try my shoes, blisters would form creating painful steps.
I believe God has a path designed for each and every one of us. And, similarly to the challenges we would face wearing someone else’s shoes not sized nor designed for us and our journey would certainly make it more difficult than necessary.
Your path and mine have not been the same thus far and likely will not be from here out. Our paths may crisscross once or many times for various reasons. They may even merge for a bit. But they are individual journeys.
God will be your guide if you let him. He will walk beside you and even carry you when necessary. He will light the path. Although you may only be able to see the next step, find your faith to confidently move forward in only Him.
As students head off to college this week my heart is a bit burden for them and I will certainly be in prayer. I pray that they seek their own paths and adventure and that they do not set out on the journey without trust in Christ. Temptation to follow others along their trek or even to veer off the path will be great.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.”
